You know what I think Americans and Europeans, really don’t like about Muslims the most? It’s their visual opposition to completely conforming to their attributed way of life.
In the scenario that you MUST migrate to a Western country, you must participate in every norm, concept, tradition and idea, even if it doesn’t correspond with the general constitution of the country or its values.
And what brings this to my attention is the laws around banning Burkas, banning Hijabs, this insane opposition towards “halal” food, this need for young Muslim kids to participate in co-ed environments when their values and customs at home, don’t tend to correspond with that?
Why is it that, every Immigrant must shed every ounce of their origins or their values to conform to Western ideals to be a functioning member of society?
You can’t hail that you support diversity and inclusiveness as a country when you oppose it at its core elements.

It’s not about conforming its about accepting each other’s different cultural characteristics and making space for them to be expressed

100% agree. It’s fucked up. We/America believes that if you don’t conform and adapt to the Western society then you are a threat and will be viewed as a “traditionalist society that hasn’t evolved”. America doesn’t really have a “culture” that you can pinpoint, so we forget how another’s culture travels with the individual wherever they go.
